What is NR and why is it important?Updated 3 months ago
Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) is a precursor of NAD+. As such, it acts as a building block that is efficiently converted into NAD+ by the body using the NRK enzyme (Nicotinamide Riboside Kinase).
With ageing, the recycling capacity of existing NAD+ decreases, leading to reduced availability. The production of new NAD+ from its precursor NR then becomes a crucial supply route.
